New Season, New Music

it’s hard to believe it’s fall already. We’ve had a lovely summer, with warm sunny days, get-togethers with family and friends, or even just watching sunsets late into the evening.

Silver Chord had their annual wind-up potluck afternoon, graciously hosted at Stan and Margriet’s home. We sang and danced and ate and drank under a perfect blue sky. There was a line dance lesson by Jack and Ellen, some Italian music by Danny and Marie and of course some folk songs from our great musical director Nigel. Lots of food, lots of stories, lots of fun! Thank you, Stan and Margriet!

The annual Silver Chord picnic happened at Settlers Park later in the summer, with more music and food and fun. Stephanie and her keyboard provided the tunes, of course.

And now here we are at the start of another new season. 2026 will be our 58th year and it’s time for lots of new songs and challenges. We’ve started looking through almost fifty songs, many of them familiar from our younger days but new to us as a choir. It’ll be a refreshing update to our repertoire!

Our wonderful booking team, Sharon and Colette, are already working at keeping us busy, getting us lots of singing engagements. Thank you to both of them!

Onward and forward we go!
