Watch your director.
Silence your phone!
Short syllables add punch. Long syllables add smoothness.
Smile when you sing!
Keep your music in order.
Stay home when you’re sick.
Not too loud, not too soft! Blend with the choir.
Open your mouth to sing!
When the song ends, END IT. Watch for the cutoff.
Practise your music - any time, anywhere!
Read the Tips for Singers pages - lots of good info there!
Turn your pages early.
Learn some music terms.
Keep hydrated. Room-temperature water is best.
Count the rests - all of them!
Engage your audience.
Follow your director.
Check your posture - face forward, not straining up or down.
Sing with confidence, not just volume.
Learn your range and your change.
Arrive early to a show.
Listen to your neighbours, not just yourself.
Eat healthy. Not too much, not too little.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Social

Mayfair and Astoria Retirement Homes are sponsoring an Ugly Christmas Sweater social, featuring several of PoCo’s recreational music groups. Silver Chord is one of those groups, of course, and we’ll be sharing a sampling of our Christmas repertoire with the crowd. Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater, of course!

It would be convenient to have the list of songs to be sung on this date, Dec.11/25 on this site.
