- Read the Tips for Singers pages - lots of good info there!Follow your director.Engage your audience.Learn some music terms.Not too loud, not too soft! Blend with the choir.Smile when you sing!Watch your director.Keep hydrated. Room-temperature water is best.Listen to your neighbours, not just yourself.Practise your music - any time, anywhere!Short syllables add punch. Long syllables add smoothness.Open your mouth to sing!Eat healthy. Not too much, not too little.Learn your range and your change.Check your posture - face forward, not straining up or down.When the song ends, END IT. Watch for the cutoff.Sing with confidence, not just volume.Count the rests - all of them!Arrive early to a show.Turn your pages early.Silence your phone!Stay home when you’re sick.Keep your music in order.
