Sing with confidence, not just volume.
Eat healthy. Not too much, not too little.
Keep your music in order.
Check your posture - face forward, not straining up or down.
Watch your director.
Smile when you sing!
Listen to your neighbours, not just yourself.
Not too loud, not too soft! Blend with the choir.
Arrive early to a show.
Read the Tips for Singers pages - lots of good info there!
Turn your pages early.
Open your mouth to sing!
Practise your music - any time, anywhere!
Follow your director.
When the song ends, END IT. Watch for the cutoff.
Keep hydrated. Room-temperature water is best.
Learn your range and your change.
Count the rests - all of them!
Silence your phone!
Short syllables add punch. Long syllables add smoothness.
Learn some music terms.
Stay home when you’re sick.
Engage your audience.

Meeting of the Melodies

An annual gathering of several community choirs, dancers and other musical groups in the Tri-Cities area. Each choir performs their selections, then all gather together for a mass grand finale number! Last year the event was held outdoors in the beautiful Spirit Square, behind the Glen Pine Pavilion. If you’re in the audience, bring a blanket or lawn chairs and maybe a picnic!

This year we hope to have the event outdoors once again, but we can move indoors to the Great Room if the weather turns on us.
