Sing with confidence, not just volume.
Check your posture - face forward, not straining up or down.
Follow your director.
Eat healthy. Not too much, not too little.
Smile when you sing!
Arrive early to a show.
Keep your music in order.
Stay home when you’re sick.
Silence your phone!
Watch your director.
When the song ends, END IT. Watch for the cutoff.
Learn some music terms.
Keep hydrated. Room-temperature water is best.
Listen to your neighbours, not just yourself.
Turn your pages early.
Practise your music - any time, anywhere!
Count the rests - all of them!
Open your mouth to sing!
Read the Tips for Singers pages - lots of good info there!
Learn your range and your change.
Not too loud, not too soft! Blend with the choir.
Short syllables add punch. Long syllables add smoothness.
Engage your audience.

Seniors Week Launch Party

Seniors’ Week is a special time to recognise and celebrate the seniors in our community. What better way to kick off the festivities than a concert from Port Coquitlam;s cery own seniors’ choir, The Silver Chord Choir! Join us in the lobby of the Port Coquitlam Community Centre on Monday afternoon for an hour of favourite tunes old and new. Bring the family, bring your friends, bring your voice. Who knows, you might even be inspired to join the Silver Chord Choir in September!
