- Don't be afraid to say "I don't know."Avoid negative people.Don't be afraid to say "I made a mistake."Never underestimate the power of love.Buy whatever kids are selling on card tables in their front yards.Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank filled.Rekindle old friendships.Feed a stranger's expired parking meter.Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.be there when people need you.Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation.Marry only for love.Have a firm handshake.Plant flowers every spring.Commit yourself to constant improvement.Sing in the shower.Carry jumper cables in your trunk.Leave the toilet seat in the down position.Wave at kids on school buses.Watch a sunrise at least once a year.Drink champagne for no reason at all.Take responsibility for every area of your life.Always accept an outstretched hand.Over tip breakfast waitresses.Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.Make new friends but cherish the old ones.Send lots of Valentines Day cards and sign them "Someone who thinks you're terrific."Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.Have a dog.Say "please" a lot.Be the first to say hello.Sing in a choir.Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.Dance like no-one is watching. Sing like no-one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt.Look people in the eye.Learn three clean jokes.Plant a tree on your birthday.Call your mother.Count your blessings.Ask for a raise when you feel you've earned it.Return all things you borrow.Use the good silver.Compliment three people everyday.Be forgiving of yourself and others.Keep it simple.Compliment even small improvements.Keep secrets.Never refuse homemade brownies.Say "thank-you" a lot.Remember other people's birthdays.Strive for excellence, not for perfection.Don't expect life to be fair.Stop blaming others.Wear polished shoes.Keep your promises (no matter what).Leave everything a little better than you found it.Floss your teeth.
